The awards evening celebrated the success of Early Years Practitioners completing an Early Years Professional Development Programme aimed at improving children’s early language, literacy and mathematics resulting in 16 number of settings across Doncaster achieving Communication Friendly Status
Staff are now equipped with the knowledge, skills and confidence to implement evidence based approaches to enhance the quality of adult-child interactions in their settings and to engage parents in their children’s learning to support the home learning environment.
- confidence and know-how to identify children at risk of Speech, Language and Communication Needs – and the ability to put in place suitable and appropriate support strategies that do not add to any over-identification pressures on local speech therapy services
- the skills, knowledge and confidence to cascade this learning to Early Years Practitioners consistently as intended, in terms of content and quality of the CPD.
